Socket Has No Power but Breaker Has Not Tripped

Socket Has No Power but Breaker Has Not Tripped
11.06.2026 Socket and switch installation and replacement

If a socket has no power but the breaker has not tripped, the cause may be a loose contact, broken wire, failed neutral connection or a fault in a junction box.

Common causes

The outlet may be burned, a terminal may be loose, a cable may be damaged in the wall or the previous socket in the circuit may have failed.

Safe diagnosis

An electrician tests the breaker output, neutral busbar, sockets and junction boxes, finds the last working point and safely restores the connection.
